«Will LLMs kill the online travel agency business model?»

Dr Toni Raurich-Marcet, Director of the School of Economics and Business at ENDOR University.

Brief description:
Since the emergence of ChatGPT, artificial intelligence has begun to profoundly transform many economic sectors, including tourism. Online travel agencies (OTAs) are often singled out as a business model that could be displaced by new AI tools. This session will present the findings of research into the real impact of artificial intelligence on the travel industry and analyse whether these predictions reflect an imminent transformation of the sector or are part of the usual hype cycle that accompanies new technologies.
Objectives:
To disseminate the results of research carried out in Andorra on the impact of artificial intelligence on the transformation of the tourism sector, and to explore whether the analytical tool developed in this research can be transferred and applied to other economic sectors.
