Catalan
Catalan is a Romance language spoken by more than ten million people and is the only official language of the Principality of Andorra. This status gives it a central role in the country’s institutional, educational, and administrative spheres. Both public institutions and various private entities promote policies and initiatives aimed at ensuring its use, promotion, and social projection in all areas.
Catalan is also the native language of Endor Digital University, even though degree programs and their courses are mainly delivered in Spanish and the presence of English is significant.
Endor therefore guarantees the application of Law 6/2024 and, aware of its role and educational responsibility, offers resources to encourage the use and quality of Catalan within its community and in the country.
Thus, through the linguistic resources section, we provide you with links to some of the essential tools.

In accordance with the obligations arising from Law 6/2024, of April 25, on the native and official language, Endor has developed an action plan on the use and quality of the Catalan language.
As teaching is not delivered fully or partially in Catalan, Endor guarantees students the right to take an elective course in Catalan Language and/or Knowledge of Andorra worth 3 ECTS credits. This transversal course will be offered in the second year for 120-credit programs and in the third year for 180-credit programs, and competencies CT1 and CT2 will be addressed.
Endor may issue a specific official certificate for the successful completion of the corresponding elective course. The credits obtained may also appear as additional training in the Diploma Supplement. In the case of programs that do not have electives, they will appear as additional credits not included in the study plan.
As it is not mandatory, the course in Catalan Language and/or Knowledge of Andorra will not affect the awarding of the degree.
Endor Digital University operates within a unique linguistic context, as Catalan is the only official language of Andorra and, consequently, it is also the university’s native language.
At the same time, by its nature, Endor is a multilingual institution: all its members are proficient in at least two languages, and a significant number know three or more languages.
In this context, Endor assumes a dual commitment. On the one hand, it guarantees the knowledge, presence, and normalized use of Catalan as the language of institutional management and communication. On the other hand, it promotes international openness by fostering proficiency and the use of other languages in academic and professional settings.
Among these languages, special attention is given to English as a key tool for global communication, both in teaching and research as well as in employability. Likewise, great importance is given to Spanish, which forms part of Andorra’s sociocultural fabric.
Thus, Endor has established a linguistic framework to ensure the use and quality of its native language and to strengthen institutional multilingualism. This is set out in its language policy created in March 2026.
This policy guides the present and future actions of Endor Digital University, with the aim of balancing its commitment to its roots with its international outlook.
